Upcoming Florida Minimum Wage Changes for 2020

The 2020 minimum wage in Florida is going up to $8.56 per hour, effective January 1, 2020. This means that starting on January 1, 2020, the minimum wage of at least $5.54 per hour MUST be paid for tipped employees, in addition to tips. It also means the new overtime rate will be 1.5x the minimum wage rate, or $12.84 per hour.

If you are a restaurant server, bartender, or other tipped employee and you are not receiving $5.54 per hour exclusive of tips, please contact USA Employment Lawyers!

An employer may not retaliate against an employee for exercising his or her right to receive the minimum wage. If you believe you are a victim of wage theft, contact us immediately.
